Saucillator

Peter Keene 2004

Sausage of Montbéliard, electrodes, biomedical amplifier, synthesizer, oscilloscope, and printer.

The saucillator is part of an ongoing collection of experiments on various sausages from the regions of France. This installation is the result of experiments using EEG machine of my own design.
The sausage is acting like a primary cell. Basically, 2 silver electrodes sense the difference of potential generated by the sausage meat. These voltages, in the order of a few microvolts, need to be greatly amplified to be passed onto the analogue printer and the synthesizer.

The saucillator, Peter Keene. Montbeliard's sausage connecting to an EEG, sings when you touch it.
